North Myrtle Beach Real Estate

While North Myrtle Beach has succumbed to the inevitable expansion brought about by the tourist industry, it still distinguishes itself from Myrtle Beach by the more residential feel of the area, smaller crowds, and less traffic.

But despite the subtle differences, North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach are much the same. The northern end of the Grand Strand has developed its own set of attractions and fabulous restaurants. Myrtle Beach offers Broadway on the Beach and the Grande Dunes while North Myrtle Beach has Barefoot Landing, Barefoot Resort, and North Beach Plantation. Many of the finest golf courses are at the North end of the city or close by in Conway and Little River. South Carolina’s only casino boat docks in Little River as well.
There are lots of elegant new high-rise condominiums in this area but there are fewer large resorts like the Prince Resort and Baywatch Resort near the Cherry Grove Pier. Beach houses and vacation condos here are generally smaller and private.  Close to the beach, there are many new townhome and villa neighborhoods.

The atmosphere is laid-back and easy. Main Street on Ocean Drive comes alive with beach music, shag dancing, and the laughter of friends for drinks gathering at Duck’s and Fat Harold’s. Golf carts are the preferred mode of transportation when running errands to the drugstore, the supermarket, or going to a favorite restaurant.
The new North Beach Plantation offers buyers an opportunity to purchase a new beach home or condo and customize it. Ocean Creek Resort is one of the best gated luxury vacation facilities with incredible amenities. Along the Intracoastal Waterway, Harbourgate Resort in North Myrtle Beach and Coquina Harbour in Little River, cater to boating enthusiasts with marinas and boat slips.
If you like the idea of living close to all the opportunities along the Grand Strand, from shopping to dining to family entertainment, but prefer a more private location with less traffic, this is the perfect place to make your home.
