North Myrtle Beach Vacation Homes

Sister cities, side by side on the South Carolina shoreline, North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach share many tourist attractions and great restaurants but offer very different neighborhoods and housing options.

The older city, Myrtle Beach, traditionally features beachfront hotels standing side by side with residential areas that sit back off the beach. In contrast, North Myrtle Beach’s Ocean Drive is lined with many vacation rental homes, elegant mansions, condos, multiple family homes, patio homes and townhomes. Whether it’s a beachfront mansion or a more affordable vacation beach house on the second row, you’ll find it in North Myrtle Beach.

Houses right on the beach in either city are often expensive, regardless of the style but older, smaller homes are reasonably priced. Managed by professional rental companies, the larger beach homes are generally used as investment rentals. These residences sell for more than $1 mil and can rent for over $2500 a week. Second-row beach houses, across the street from the beach, are priced in the mid $300,000’s and make the perfect vacation home, rental investment, or primary home for  beach loving retirees. In North Myrtle Beach, the older, wood houses make wonderful beach homes or great monthly rentals, winter rentals, and spring break rentals.
For some, condo living provides some convenience but if you are looking for privacy, a beach home is a perfect choice. Bedrooms are often oceanfront and have private balconies where you can enjoy the relaxing sound of the ocean waves and stunning sunsets. The kids can run and play. You can turn your music up.  Many times there is a pool and Jacuzzi so you can sleep all day and swim all night if you choose. If you are renting the house out, you make the rules to allow pets, college kids, motorcycles or not. Condos have HOA rules.
Cherry Grove Channel Homes
North Myrtle Beach offers lots of golf course homes for those who prefer golf to the beach.
Boaters might prefer a house on the Intracoastal Waterway. Some come with private docks.
Cherry Grove “Channel” homes provide panoramic vistas of the inlet and access to the Waterway. These residences offer both boat and beach access. North Myrtle Beach vacation homes are a good choice for anyone wanting to invest in real estate along the Grand Strand.
